Making Insurance

December 09 2010

A brand new day full of endless possibilities or just another day to be put in the history books. Here are some interesting things that happened on December 9th in the past:

1851 – The first YMCA in North America is established in Montreal, Quebec.

1979 – The eradication of the smallpox virus is certified, making smallpox the first and to date only human disease driven to extinction.

2008 – The Governor of Illinois, Rod Blagojevich, is arrested by federal officials for a number of alleged crimes including attempting to sell the United States Senate seat being vacated by President-elect Barack Obama’s election to the Presidency.

Wow. Has it really been two years since the whole Rod Blagojevich fiasco?

Today is also Anna’s Day, a Swedish name day. Participate by celebrating all people named Anna! Today also marks the day to start preparation process of the lutefisk, which is to be consumed on Christmas Eve. If you like lutefisk(fermented fish), prepare your dish today!

Happy Anna’s day!
