Stuff Your Fat Face With Pie Day

Happy Pi Day! Did you remember to set your clock one our forward this weekend? If you didn’t, you’re going to be late for class or school if you’re still sitting at home.

Anyway, let’s dig deeper into the beautiful apple filled day known as pie pi day.

What is Pi?
It’s π. Okay fine – Wikipedia will answer the question for me :

π (sometimes written pi) is a mathematical constant whose value is the ratio of any Euclidean plane circle‘s circumference to its diameter; this is the same value as the ratio of a circle’s area to the square of its radius. It is approximately equal to 3.14159265 in the usual decimal notation. Many formulae from mathematics, science, and engineering involve π, which makes it one of the most important mathematical constants

Pi Day is a holiday commemorating the mathematical constant π (pi). Pi Day is celebrated on March 14 (or 3/14 in month/day date format), since 3, 1 and 4 are the three most significant digits of π in the decimal form. In 2009, the United States House of Representatives supported the designation of Pi Day.

Larry Shaw created Pi Day in 1989. The holiday was celebrated at the San Francisco Exploratorium, where Shaw worked as a physicist, with staff and public marching around one of its circular spaces, then consuming fruit pies. The Exploratorium continues to hold Pi Day celebrations

How can I celebrate this day?
According to Wikipedia, you can do what Larry Shaw did and walk around in a circle but I prefer his latter process of the celebration – eating pie. So, go have a slice of that delicious pie today. Find your local pie dealer on the streets and ask him for some pie!

Wait – people don’t pie from shady characters wearing trench coats in the dark you say? Huh – that’s news to me. Well, wherever you go to find pie – eat it while thinking about the greatness that is

I need to know more about pi!
Okay okay, just put the strawberry soaked knife away. You can visit the official Pi Day website and purchase pi merchandise or locate your nearest message board and discuss how much you love pi – weirdo.
